School Counsellor Information Workshop

The Butterfly Foundation has developed a workshop especially targeted to School Counsellors. The aim of the workshop is to equip School Counsellors to recognise potential problems and intervene accordingly. This workshop provides extensive and in-depth knowledge about specific Eating Disorders, signs and symptoms while detailing numerous intervention strategies which School Counsellors can use with students who may be showing signs of engaging in concerning behaviours. It is well documented that early intervention in young people with issues around poor body image, disordered eating or Eating Disorders can ensure a far shorter recovery time than if intervention is later and the behaviours have become more entrenched.

The workshop runs for 3 hours and covers topics including:
• Understanding eating issues and Eating Disorders
• Identification of eating issues or Eating Disorders
• The role of self-esteem and body image
• Intervention when there is an issue
• Supporting a person with an eating issue or Eating Disorder
• Referral

Date: Thursday 16th September
Time: 1 - 4pm
Venue: Butterfly House, 103 Alexander Street, Crows Nest

Cost: $90.00

To attend, please complete the registration form and return to the Butterfly Foundation by Monday 13th September
For further information please call 02 99412 4499

Eat Pray Love Movie Screening - Starring Julia Roberts, James Franco & Billy Crudup

The Butterfly Foundation warmly invites you to Eat Pray Love

One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India & Indonesia

Based on the bestselling memoir by Liz Gilbert, Eat Pray Love explores the experience of one woman who risks everything to change her life by embarking on a journey around the world that becomes a quest for self-discovery.

The theme of the evening comes from the very core of our philosophy at Butterfly which encourages individuals to take that step towards self discovery and for some - recovery.

This film highlights how life changing moments of epiphany can be overwhelming but can ultimately shape a persons’ self awareness, resilience and inner courage.  The film also embraces themes of love and pleasure and will leave guests feeling inspired and ignited in their own journey through life.
