Butterfly Wing
For many years now The Butterfly Foundation has been advocating for more family friendly and focused services for those caring for a child with an eating disorder. We are thrilled to have been working with the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in Sydney on the development of a ‘Care By Parent’ Wing which enables families from rural and regional areas to stay in on site accommodation with their child while they are undergoing treatment. We extend our grateful thanks to Sportsgirl and the Kingston Sedgefield Trust, managed by Perpetual Trustees, for their generous support of the “Butterfly Wing.” We hope it will be a place of comfort and healing to those families experiencing the challenging journey of recovery from an eating disorder.
The launch of the Butterfly Wing took place in National Body Image and Eating Disorders Awareness Week – Friday 4th September, 2009.

Victorian Government Supports BodyThink
We are thrilled to announce that our BodyThink initiative has received a $100,000 grant from the Victorian State Government for 2009 - 2010. This grant will allow us to deliver BodyThink trainings in rural areas of Victoria.
The announcement of this grant was made by the Honourable Minister for Sport, Recreation and Youth Affairs, James Merlino at the Botanical Gardens on Wednesday 3rd September, during National Body Image and Eating Disorders Awareness Week.
The Butterfly Foundation thanks the Victorian State Government for this generous grant and congratulates them on their continuing commitment to body image issues.
