The Butterfly Foundation provides telephone and online support for any person affected by an eating disorder or negative body image. We welcome people experiencing an eating disorder, carers, family members, friends, or any professional working with someone who have, or they suspect may have, an eating disorder, contacting us. In providing this service our aim is to support people through their presenting concerns and guide them with information, education and referrals if requested. The phone and online support that we provide is not a clinical service or crisis helpline. Rather, we aim to support people to access the treatment they may need.
Telephone and email support through The Butterfly Foundation can be helpful for someone as a ‘first port of call’ or as extra support, however it is not designed and should not take the place of regular, intensive treatment from skilled professionals in the eating disorder field. Your General Practitioner can assist you with managing your health and eating and with finding a health professional to help you to recover. We can also assist you to locate a health professional in the field of eating disorders.
To access telephone and online support please call the Sydney office on (02) 9412 4499, Melbourne office on (03) 9822 5771 or e-mail support@thebutterflyfoundation.org.au
Telephone and online support is only available during business hours, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
