New Family Support Worker at EDFV
A new Family Support Worker is available at The Eating Disorders Foundation of Victoria.
Often there is so much focus on the person with the eating disorder, that other family members are sometimes overlooked. For many families they are hurting too and are in great need of support and someone to talk to about their experience in caring for someone with an eating disorder. Not only do these families feel isolated, angry, overwhelmed, afraid and frustrated but find they have little avenues to talk about what's going on for them, as there still appears to be a lack of understanding about the complexities of eating disorders in the community. In recognizing the huge need to support families/carers in the process of recovery, a Family Support Worker is nowavailable for appointments to offer support, information and referrals.
If you would like to make an appointment to see EDFV's Family Support Worker - Amy Taylor, or would like some more information about this free and confidential service, call the EDFV Helpline on (03) 9885 0318. Amy is available on Mondays and Wednesdays.
