We're open 8am – midnight (AEST), seven days a week.

 The Butterfly National Helpline 1800 ED HOPE, is a free and confidential service for anyone in Australia, providing information, counselling and treatment referral for eating disorders, disordered eating, body image and related issues.

Our counsellors are professionally-trained and experienced in supporting those affected by an eating disorder – the individual experiencing, their carers and families, and their friends. We provide information, support and guidance on treatment options as well as referral pathways.  We also provide information to health and other professionals.

The Translation and interpreting service: 131450 -  is also available if English is not your first language

We're open 8am – midnight (AEST), seven days a week.

You may want to:

  • Talk to someone about your own eating disorder or disordered eating and find out how to get help.
  • Receive professional guidance on eating disorder treatment.
  • Discuss treatment options in your local area and across Australia. 
  • Request contact details for a health professional in your area.
  • Gain information on how to best support a loved one.
  • Join an online support group or carer education program.
