The Butterfly Foundation’s National Helpline, ED HOPE, is a free and confidential service which provides information, counselling and treatment referral for eating disorders, disordered eating, body image and related issues.

Our counsellors are professionally trained and experienced in supporting those affected by an eating disorder – the individual who is struggling with their journey, their carers and families, and their friends. We provide information, support and guidance on treatment options as well as referral pathways.  We also provide information to health and other professionals.

You may want to:

  • Talk to someone about your own eating disorder or disordered eating and find out how to get help.
  • Receive professional guidance on eating disorder treatment.
  • Discuss treatment options in your local area and across Australia. 

  • Request contact details for a health professional in your area.

  • Gain information on how to best support a loved one.

  • Join an online support group or carer education program.
